Fred Lambert's slim volume of southwestern poetry is about all the various settlers, ranchers, miners, cowboys, trappers and everyone else who came to make their lives in the southwest. Mr. Lambert was a cowpuncher, deputy sheriff, special scout for the New Mexico Mounted Police, state cattle inspector, game warden, and U.S. Indian Service official, all of which the author drew upon for his poetry.
