Chrisman is also the author of a biography of Texas cattleman I.P. Olive and spent nearly a lifetime collecting original materials about the great cattle days, he outlines the trails and the movements of the trail herds over the immense grasslands of the Panhandle areas of Texas and Ok. He includes the ranches and towns (many now ghost sites) which made this area a vast economy based on grass and beef.
