Just recently, fortune had rewarded him beyond his wildest dreams. Snowbound, with only a few dollars in his pockets and a rich Texas rancher as an opponent in a marathon game of poker, Greg won the stake of a lifetime. And when he took his purse and managed to buy a big spread in the rich Sioux Valley range at a bargain price, he seemed to be leeding a charmed life, indeed.
But suddenly his luck ran out and on his first day as a ranch-owner he stumbled on an ambush of gunmen attempting to kill a young woman in an overturned buggy, and, going to her rescue, he found himself in the middle of a vicious range war.
