The St James Hotel, nestled in the small town of Cimarron, New Mexico, ushered the Weld West in and out of existence. What is now the town's main attraction was once a bustling stop along the Santa Fe Trail, a hangout for thirsty outlaws and a home to a family of quite interesting people. Old West legends such as Clay ALlison, Bat Masterson, John Chisum, Buffalo Bill Cody and Wyatt Earp rented room s at the St. James Hotel. It housed countless important events as well as deadly shootouts. This sturdy old adobe building, still in operation today as the St. James Hotel, has earned its place in western folklore.
