Dr Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) is a highly skilled, lonely forensic anthropologist, who is approached by an ambitious FBI agent, Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz). He wants her to assist the bureau with murder investigations when the standard methods of identifying a body are useless. Brennan's special expertise lies in her uncanny ability to read clues left behind in the victim's bones however Booth believes the key to solving crimes is through good old-fashioned investigative work. The pair repeatedly clash as their professional and personal differences become more evident as the season progresses.
