The New Year of the Pueblo Indians of New Mexico by Bertha P. Dutton Concerning a small untroubled world by Gustave Baumann Gustave Baumann by Calla Hay In Memorium Popovi Da of San Ildefonso by Laura Gilpin Books
This is a special issue of El Palacio, honoring the memory of three New Mexicans whose recent deaths not only are grievous personal losses to many of us but somehow mark the passing of an era.
The three are Dr. Edward P. Dozier of Santa Clara Pueblo, an anthropologist of the highest distinction; Popovi Da of San Ildefonso Pueblo, craftsman of international reputation and Gustave Baumann of Santa Fe, an artist who resided there for half a century and was symbolic of that breed of men and women who made it the city different.
